Welcome!

Our Story

Tiny Tot / Rainbow Early Years Centres offer child care at three separate locations. The Tiny Tot Kensington Road centre has been licensed since 1972, Rainbow has been licensed since 2003, and Tiny Tot Pope Ave has been licensed since 2006.

We are a family oriented business with a strong emphasis on parent and educator communications.

We provide our child care in bright, roomy buildings with large outdoor facilities for playtime.

Transportation for field trips and community activities are provided by our centres. With fully certified educators on staff, all programs are designed specifically for age-appropriate development.

Our Team

Tiny Tot / Rainbow Early Years Centres are proud to have Directors with many years of experience in child care, education and leadership training.

Our Educators have diplomas/certificates in Early Childhood Education and/or Human services.

All staff are required to have First Aid and CPR, WHMIS, Food Sanitation Courses, also require Vulnerable Criminal Checks.

Each location is equiped with an AED machine.

Our qualified staff  have many years of experience and continue to enhance their professional development with ongoing training sessions throughout the year to provide the safest and developmentally appropriate practices for all children.

Our Directors Are:

Pam Barrett
Director of Tiny Tot Early Years (Kensington Road)

Hi, My name is Pam Barrett and I have been in the Early Childhood field for 32 years and  employed with Tiny Tot Early Years Centre for the past 22 years. I have a diploma in Early Childhood Education from Holland College. I have also attended numerous workshops and conferences to keep current of any changes or new learning strategies within the Early Childhood field. I am familiar with working in all age groups, but have spent the majority of my teaching within our Pre-Kindergarten program as well as our School-Age program.

I hosted a school-age workshop titled “Too Cool for Daycare” in November 2011 for educators who were involved in after school care.  I currently live in the Charlottetown area  and have two children and one grandchild.

Erin Reid Terrio
Director of Tiny Tot Early Years
(Pope Avenue)

Hello, my name is Erin Reid Terrio and I am the Director at the Tiny Tot Pope Ave location in Charlottetown. After graduating with my Bachelor of Arts in 2010 from Saint Mary’s University, I then headed back home to New Brunswick. There I had the pleasure of working with at risk youth in high school, as a counselor. Those experiences certainly reinforced my love of helping/teaching and from there I decided to obtain my ECE from NBCC and focus more on the critical early years. In July 2015, I moved to PEI and began working at Tiny Tot as a PreK educator.

As the Director of the Centre, I take pride in knowing that our Centre is one that strives for excellence in quality child care while promoting a co-operative spirit with children, families, educators and our community. As an advocate for the Early Childhood sector, I also sit as a member of the Early Learning and Child Care Board.

In my spare time, I adore hanging out with my husband, Adam and our sweet loyal dog, Oliver. Together we explore this beautiful Island, while also taking in local sporting events and enjoy the Island’s cultural mosaic.

Patti Gallant
Director of Rainbow Early Years (Summerside)

My name is Patti Gallant. I am married with two beautiful children.

I graduated from the Early Childhood Care and Education program at Holland College in 2001 and am currently enrolled at Saint Mount Vincent University working towards my Child and Youth Studies degree with a minor in Psychology.

I have been in this field for 18 years, spending 12 of those years as an Early Childhood Educator at Rainbow and now currently in the Director position.
